JSYF Presents provides engaging events and activities for the youth of Fort McMurray. Youth who are involved in extra-curricular activities are more confident, capable, and committed to making better life choices and setting and achieving their goals. Due to Fort McMurray’s remote location, many young residents don’t have the same variety of programming available as a youth in other regions of the province. Although some youth in Fort McMurray may be able to travel to take part in programs and events offered elsewhere, this isn’t a feasible reality for most.

The JSYF Presents provides free programming such as sports, cooking, crafts, graffiti art, skate jams, field trips, special events, and much more. These programs are developed based upon youth input and are brought to a variety of venues in different neighborhoods throughout Fort McMurray. By bringing free programs to youth, JSYF Presents combats barriers created by a lack of transportation, a key issue identified by local youth in the Foundation’s 2009 survey. By providing youth with opportunities to take part in engaging activities, JSYF provides youth with a safe environment and helps to remove them from the elements of the street
